Provident has been recognized with a number of Environment, Health & Safety awards:

  • Gas Processing Association of Canada (GPAC) Safety Award - On May 9, 2008, GPAC presented Provident's Empress Plant with this award for the ninth time. The award recognizes the plant for their number of hours worked without a lost time incident.
  • CSX Chemical Safety Award - On March 27, 2008, Provident's Kinetic facilities were presented with the CSX Chemical Safety Award in recognition of their strong commitment to the safe movement of hazardous rail shipments. The award is given to companies who ship at least 600 railcars a year on CSX without any accidental chemical releases.
  • Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Stewardship Award - On April 9, 2008, Provident's Kinetic facilities were presented with the BNSF Stewardship award, again, in recognition of our strong commitment to the safe movement of hazardous rail shipments. BNSF Railway operates one of the largest rail networks in North America. The award recognizes companies that transport over 500 loaded tank cars on BNSF in a year with no chemical releases.
  • CN Safe Handling Awards (2) - On April 28, 2008, CN presented a 2007 Safe Handling Award to Provident's Redwater facility and collectively to all of our Kinetic facilities for the fifth year in a row. CN presents Safe Handling Awards each year to customers that load 100 or more tank cars per year with dangerous goods and that maintain high standards for safe handling and shipment. To determine eligibility, CN monitors non-accident releases (NARs) for tank cars carrying dangerous goods. NAR is an industry term that refers to a tank car that has been found leaking, but that has not been involved in an accident. Last year, Provident released 17,596 leak-free tank cars to the railroads.
  • Canadian Pacific Railway's Chemical Shippers Safety Award - Provident's Redwater facility received the Canadian Pacific Railway Chemical Shippers Safety Award for the year 2007. The award is given to companies that ship over 500 freight car loads or regulated chemicals annually on the CPR without any accidental chemical releases.
