Press Release #23-05
REDWATER, ALBERTA - Provident Energy Trust (Provident) celebrated the 30 th anniversary of its Redwater Fractionation and Storage Facility today. The facility collects, extracts, transports, fractionates, stores, distributes and markets natural gas liquids. It also fractionates olefins, such as propylene and butylenes, and supplies power through cogeneration.
The facility became operational in 1975 under the ownership of MP Petroleum. Since October 2003, Provident Energy has operated the entire facility and has owned the portion of it that deals with natural gas liquids. Williams Energy owns the portion that fractionates olefins, and TransCanada owns the facility's cogeneration plant.
To mark the facility's 30 th anniversary Provident President Randy Findlay pledged $400,000 toward the renovation of the Redwater Recreation Facility.
"Provident's contribution means a great deal to the health of our community," said Connie Tchir, Mayor of the Town of Redwater. "It is visible evidence of Provident's dedication to our well-being. Thank you is not enough."
"Provident's Redwater facility has been an important part of this community's growth and prosperity for 30 years," said Randy Findlay. "Our contribution to the Recreation Facility's renovation symbolizes our commitment to the community, and underscores our desire to continue our relationship for many years to come."
"Having been involved with the Redwater facility and with the community of Redwater for most of my career, I am delighted that Provident was able to contribute so generously to the well-being of the residents," said Garry Dlouhy, Senior Manager, Redwater Operations.
