  Lloydminster, Alberta/Saskatchewan

Lloydminister, located midway between Edmonton and Saskatoon, is regarded as the heavy oil capital of the world. With production from the Cretaceous Sparky formation, it contributes an abundance of low-risk development drilling opportunities to the Trust. Heavy oil exploration and development has been underway in the area since 1946 and in 1992, a $1.6 billion plant was built to upgrade crude oil.

The area is managed from Provident’s Lloydminster office.
